ABOUT ME

I am young Dutch innovator; a curious person, interested in trends and always wondering and thinking about what will happen in the future. For instance, climate change, globalization and automation are important trends that could have enormous negative effects in the near future. When I work on a innovation project, I am not interested in details. Instead, it is the big picture that interests me. Secretly, it is my ambition to save the world from impending doom. Innovation is the key for organizations and even societies to adapt to new circumstances. That is why it is my mission to help organizations innovate.
In July 1996 I was born in the city of Nijmegen, Netherlands. I grew up as an energetic child with lots of ideas. I drew, designed and made things; first by hand, later by using computer software. Playing musical instruments has also been an important hobby for me since an early age. I have been playing in a band for over eight years. Here, you can check out some creations that I have made. They are examples of how I express my creativity.
During secondary school, I started joining various committees and helping to realize events, such as parties and gala's. In this way, I discovered my love for organization: working together towards a common goal. I also discovered my talent for vision, for seeing the big picture. It allows me not only to see what result I want to achieve, but also to know how to get there.
In addition to joining the committees, I did very well in school. I understood that, in order to get good grades, for most subjects you just needed to be able to think in a logical and critical way. And so, after I received my VWO diploma in2015, I even went to university. It was'nt the high difficulty that made me quit after just two months, however; it was the lack of creativity and practice.
Now, I'm a second-year student of the HBO bachelor Advanced Business Creation (ABC). At ABC we are trained to become business creators. Through innovation, we deliver new sustainable value to an organization. It is course where students work in teams on various project for existing corporations, where they can put their skills into practice. In a nutshell, my success had mostly relied on three pillars: creativity, organizational skills and a critical mind. Those are the skills that are fundamental for an innovator; I believe that a solution can be found for any problem, when you truly understand what the problem is (critical thinking), you stand open for new ideas (creativity) and you are willing and able to collaborate with other people or parties to succesfully implement the concept (organizational skills).
